CAPCOM HOME ARCADE UPDATE SINCE LAUNCH

Today, Capcom announced that this pack of 30 games spread across either three collections or the bundle will be available on other devices. May 25 will see the release of Capcom Arcade Stadium on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.The 16 pre-installed games are from the original Capcom CPS1 and CPS2 arcade ROMs with emulation provided by FB Alpha, delivering an authentic & accurate arcade experience exclusively for the Capcom Home Arcade. Break some high scores in single player, team up with a friend in co-op multiplayer or destroy them in a head-to-head battle.Beyond just getting an expansion in terms of where itвЂ™s released, the set will also get more classics released on it later on. There wasnвЂ™t much announced there beyond it being something thatвЂ™s being worked on вЂ“ but more information was announced for new content for all platforms later on. The distance of the CHA to the main node is half meter.The 1.4 firmware was detected today when I turned on the CHA and went to the System Update, the update installed just in a few seconds, the machine rebooted and everything started as usual. Excuse me if the post is too large, also excuse my bad English, IвЂ™m Spanish and I learned English in high school, my vocabulary is not very extensive, neither is my syntax.First, a brief description of my actual setup:I play with the CHA in stand up position, the CHA is settled over two wood planks that are over an Ikea Malm chest of three drawers.Right now IвЂ™m using an HP-27o gaming monitor without speakers, so I use an special cable that has a separate output jack connector where I connect a pair of Logitech speakers.My home wifi network is a Linksys Velop with two nodes, it sends 5ghz and 2.4ghz signal. With previous version 1.3 the CHA detected two networks. Maybe something in the machine was reseted or changed during the update? Anyway IвЂ™m very happy with that.The CHA only detects now one network from the Linksys Velop, itвЂ™s the 2.4ghz one. Anyway in a previous post the community manager of Koch Media told me that this thing was not touched in the code soвЂ¦ thatвЂ™s weird. So the first thing was testing if that was solved andвЂ¦ now I have sound. Anyway it seems that this happens more scrolling to the right.With firmware 1.3 the sound in some games like SF2, Gigawing and Puzzle Fighter was muted if I selected the вЂњOriginal SmoothвЂќ option in the display settings. Navigating the game selection seems to have the same bug, when you move too quickly between games to the right or left it seems that you are in a cycle between just two games.

Ghouls and ghosts seems to have a litlle better control.I donвЂ™t care if having scanlines or CRT needs to lower the resolution to 720p, thatвЂ™s ok to me. And hey, my latest high score remains there after the update (IвЂ™m TEO with 727210 points).Gigawing has made two sound dropouts when I was playing with it. Image is great, I canвЂ™t notice any change in colors as other user said (something about blue color). Anyway the scores seem to being uploaded to the leaderboards after the reconnection, some times sooner some times later.Everything seems to run fine, smooth scrolling (maybe a little better than before?) and I canвЂ™t notice a hight input lag as others say, in fact with Street Fighter, the game where IвЂ™m most skilled, it feels great, very very low input lag, maybe unnoticeable, I can make special moves and attacks easily (fight with Ryu vs Ryu launching hadokens to each other is a great way of testing that).

Which is concerning for a device made at such a premium level (price, materials etc), and presumably would be expecting a passionate and knowledgeable audience with high expectations.I have said previously, most people won't be able to notice the input lag. It tells me you don't have anyone on staff that know how to play the games at a high level. I think we can make improvements still but as I was recently saying to the guy that advises me on lag and frame stability all this work we do in this area can a human really tell the difference at this level and he said probably not.It's interesting you say this, and little disheartening.

I speedrun Ghouls n Ghosts on an arcade board so I can feel the input lag on the CHA in a matter of button presses. The C64 Mini and the Capcom Home Arcade have noticeable input lag and it does effect gameplay, for those that are familiar with real hardware.There will be some players who are so intimately familiar with the real hardware that they will notice the input lag immediately. And again as I have mentioned previously, the Mega Drive Mini, NES Mini, SNES Mini, input lag is almost not noticeable and therefore does not effect gameplay to any great degree. The issue is if it is to a point of being 'too' noticeable. Players who are used to playing the 'real' arcade games, in arcade cabinets and cycle perfect, will be able to feel the input lag.All emulation, regardless how powerful a CPU you throw at it or well coded, will have input lag to some degree.

To say that humans 'probably couldn't' notice the input lag, as I said, is a concern for your QA process.I don't understand. I'm just saying that the input lag you have currently in the CHA is noticeable enough to be a problem for those that are very familiar with the games. I wouldn't be able to notice 3 frames, but THEY do, because they are that good, and they are that familiar with how the game is meant to play.I don't say that to create the impression that the expectation is a 3 frame input lag for CHA, because that would not be achievable. The top runners of Ghouls have emulated setups that give them only 3 frames of input lag.

If you have high score leaderboard settings option set to yes then 'Quit to Menu' will send the scores to the online server.Online high scores once uploaded do not have an association with your machine apart from linking up and displaying a high score based on your machines MAC address. At that point either 'Restart Game' or 'Quit to Menu' saves the high score locally. To ensure your hiscore saves you need to finish your game, insert your name and wait for the game to show you the table and go back to the title screen. Not once has any score not saved in SPF2T.Can you please try again. We've tested it countless times.
